Guilty Pleasure
I love candy!  GUMMY BEARS (Haribo the gold bag).  Feel free to bring me some lol… I love Starburst too!  back in the day, it was rare to not find the big family size in my skate bag, or a pile of wrappers sitting next to me while in between races etc.
Why Speedskating?
Started skating in 1984 on quads (conventional skates) and made the transition to speed skating on inlines in the early 90′s, along with the rest of the speed skating community.  Skating is like a part of my life like nothing else that I was doing, or had done before.  I would have bad races, or seasons, and say I was going to quit.  As soon as the next practice day came up, it felt weird if I didn’t go.  Kind of like i was forgetting to do something for the day.  I have skated and conquered a lot of the world in the process.  My achievements have been witnessed on teh local, national, and world levels, bringing home numerous records and titles over the years.  I am a rare breed of speed skater in that I was able to reach the point in this sport that I was able to call it my full-time job over a period of 5 years.  Most skaters will not reach that point in a lifetime.  i am locally accepted and internationally known, and it is a great feeling to me!  This is my 4th season with the NSC and I am looking to do some serious damage this season.  I bring a ton of knowledge with me, not only about how to skate, but how to do it effectively!  I fear no one on the track.  I race for me!  Always have, always will!!!
Hobbies outside of skating
I play a lot of flag football with my teams at home.. sometimes having as many as 3-5 games over the course of a weekend.  i am just as competitive in football as I am in skating, and it shows when I am on the field.  I also love bowling in my spare time, and the flare that makes me so likable is difinitely carried over on the lanes when I am rolling strikes (always up for a challenge)!
Something odd people wouldn’t know
I figured skated when I was younger and owe my sense of balance to that!!( DON’T JUDGE ME!!)
Best day of my life
The day that each of my 3 kids was born!!!  As much as they stress me out, they keep me young and moving all the time!!  They have all started skating now and playing other sports, and I look forward to teh day taht I can watch them win their first medals or championships, etc.
A moment that defines me
I don’t have just one moment that defines me.  Many moments have definitely challenged me in life so far. I’m pretty sure I will continue to have defining moments in life because I am not perfect, nor do I want to be, for the simple fact that if someone is perfect in their own mind, what is left to chase at that point?  That is the way I see it for myself anyway, and that is also why I wear the #10 on my NSC uniform.  It is a reminder to me to always try for the perfect moment and if it doesn’t happen, then I will take a step back and learn from it!
